A few days back i posted about the book i just bought called The Race for the New Game Machine. The book was written by 2 IBM engineers who were involved in creating Sony's Cell microprocessor for PS3. The book basically tells how they developed the evolutionary Cell processor from start to finish. The processor touted to be groundbreaking and could change the computer industry entirely. Sadly, yesterday Ars announced IBM will halt the development of Cell micoprocessor. This news indicate that this microprocessor died prematurely before anyone can utilize the full potential of its capabilities.
